I am sure many of you have a similar story – once you hit your mid-40’s/early 50’s, it is so much harder to loss belly fat. I have never been good at dieting for any period of time as I just love food. Moderation isn’t always easy either. So, I opted to become an exercise buff with swimming laps and taking zumba classes as my 2 favorite options. I exercised every day for years and was somewhat happy with the results – solid legs and arms but no reduction in the midsection.
I was complaining to a close friend and she said – “You have to try Pilates”! I was skeptical as I equating pilates to yoga. After a few more nudges, I decided to try a semi private lesson at Centered. All I can say is “HOOKED – Sign me up!” I immediately felt my core muscles working or, rather, crying. So, I made a commitment and have never looked back. Pilates equipment classes became a regular part of my workout routine.
The benefits of Pilates are undisputable. However, I never thought I would get so much more out of a class. I have made friends for life at Centered. The owner, Gina, creates an atmosphere that is not only fun but very caring. We laugh, complain, and support each other through all kinds of situations. Making true friends later in life is not easy and I am so blessed to have found Centered.
